Dr. Oluwatoyin Olatundun ILESANMI

Head, RPGS

Oluwatoyin Olatundun ILESANMI has a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology (2005) and M.Ed. in Guidance Counselling (1999) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in English Studies (1987) from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).

She is a genetic counsellor with specialized focus on psychosocial management of sickle cell disorders. She is also a gender and Development expert with core competences in capacity development, research, evidence-based programming and policy development.

As a clinical psychologist, she specifically has a special focus on young people and women.

As a gender and development professional, Dr. Ilesanmi is involved in gender equality and social inclusive research, consultancies and initiatives related to SH/GBV, policy and guidelines development, policy analysis, training of trainers (TOT), development of GESI inclusive programming and strategic planning on sectoral levels 

Dr. Oluwatoyin Olatundun Ilesanmi is a results-driven, mission-focused individual with exceptional and well–grounded strategic planning and project management skills, and proven ability to turn vision to reality. She is a highly disciplined, motivated and intelligent individual with exceptional ability for team work and sterling leadership qualities.

Dr. Ilesanmi is an effective communicator, relationship builder, trainer and negotiator, experienced in forging alliances and building partnership with young people, civil societies, donors, government agencies and other stakeholders in Nigeria.

Dr. Ilesanmi is currently a senior lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Gender and Development Studies, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria
