Professor (Mrs.) OSALUSI Florence Modupe

Professor (Mrs) Florence Modupe Osalusi was born on the 5th of March, 1955 to late Chief James Adeusi Onileaja and late princess Esther Adetutu Adeusi of Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Prof (Mrs) F.M. Osalusi obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Social Studies with Second Class Upper Division from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife a Masters of Education (M.Ed) degree in Social Studies at the prestigious University of Ibadan in 1995 where she emerged the best student in the Social Studies Unit of the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan. She later obtained Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Social Studies Education from the University of Ado-Ekiti now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti in 2011.

After many years of service as a classroom teacher in both the Primary and Secondary School, Prof. (Mrs) Florence Modupe Osalusi started her lecturing career as a Graduate Assistant at the then Ondo State College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti now College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti in 1990. She served in many academic and administrative capacities in the college between 1990 and 2007. She was a member of academic Board of the College for many years and rose through the ranks to the status of a Principal Lecturer. She transferred her services to the University of Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti in 2007 and served the University in many academic and administrative capacities. She was the head of Social Studies Unit of the then Department of Educational Foundations and Management, Faculty of Education, 2007 to 2014; Coordinator, Affiliate Unit, DECEP, 2010 to 2011; Assistant Director, Affiliate Programmes, EKSU 2012 to 2015; Acting Head of Department, Social Science Education, 2015 to 2017. She was also a member of departmental. Faculty and university committees at various times from 2007 and she is currently the Director of Centre for Gender and Development studies/Institute of Peace, Security and Governance (CGDS/IPSG).

Prof. (Mrs) F.M. Osalusi rose meritoriously through the ranks to become a Professor of Social Studies and Civic Education on 1st October, 2017. Her areas of research interest include: Contemporary Social Issues in Education; Economic societal issues; Political issues; Human Resource Development; Issues of Nation Building and National Development. She has contributed immensely in Seminars/Workshops for school administrators, education supervisors and policy makers. She has also been actively engaged in the re-training of serving teachers through continuous professional teacher development programmes organised at the state, national and international levels.

Prof. Mrs F. M. Osalusi has attended and presented quality papers on contemporary national and global issues in education as well as on societal issues at local,  national and international conferences and workshops in Nigeria, London, Dublin, Canada, USA to mention but a few. She has sixty three (63) papers published in reputable peer review national and international journals. She is also an author to many text books in her filed. She has successfully supervised twelve (12) Ph.D. students and eight (8) M.Ed. students. Some of them are now University lecturers who are doing tremendously well in their various positions of responsibility. She serves as editor to couple of international journals. She has also served as academic assessor and reviewer to University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko, Ondo State and Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. She is a member of several professional bodies both nationally and internationally, among which are Social Studies Association of Nigeria (SOSAN); National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), USA; National Association of Curriculum Theorists (NACT); Nigeria Association of Professional Educators (NAPE); Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) among others.
